Filipino Transgender Psychologist on Navigating Transness in Asia
International Women’s Day Special: Dr. Brenda Alegre, transgender registered psychologist and gender studies lecturer born and raised in the Philippines, is one of the few trans identifying academics in Hong Kong, if not the only one. She joins us to talk about the perceptions and stereotypes of transgender people in Asia, and what she teaches her students about navigating gender identities and intersectionality.
